Frozen Crowby *Nakomii

BEFORE YOU READ ON, this crow was legally obtained. It was given as a gift, and I have not, in any way, paid for this animal. Someone kindly sent it to me. They shot this animal within their own states hunting season regulated for crows, as it states below:

PART 20--MIGRATORY BIRD HUNTING--Table of Contents

Subpart L--Administrative and Miscellaneous Provisions

Sec. 20.133 Hunting regulations for crows.

(a) Crows may be taken, possessed, transported, exported, or
imported, only in accordance with such laws or regulations as may be
prescribed by a State pursuant to this section.
(b) Except in the State of Hawaii, where no crows shall be taken,
States may by statute or regulation prescribe a hunting season for
crows. Such State statutes or regulations may set forth the method of
taking, the bag and possession limits, the dates and duration of the
hunting season, and such other regulations as may be deemed appropriate,
subject to the following limitations for each State:
(1) Crows shall not be hunted from aircraft;
(2) The hunting season or seasons on crows shall not exceed a total
of 124 days during a calendar year;
(3) Hunting shall not be permitted during the peak crow nesting
period within a State; and
(4) Crows may only be taken by firearms, bow and arrow, and
falconry.}

ALSO here is the New York State hunting season page, which states we DO have a hunting season for crows and therefore it IS legal to own them. [link]

Anyway, You know I came to the realization today that It really takes experiences like these to truly appreciate an animal. Once you see it, lifeless, in front of you, and free to explore..you can just admire the creature you hold in your hands. Once one of natures most powerful animals, and here you are, holding it. AND, crows, have a very special meaning to me and ive always gawked at their intelligence and sheer beauty. And now here he is!!
I wish I could have more experiences like this.
I finally can connect to this animal fully. and im loving it.

Anywhich was i was SUPER lucky to get this guy. I had asked around if anyone possibly had an extra crow laying around that I could have to complete my project. And someone did! I really am so greatful for that. XD
This one seems to have been already cut. I see the cut and intestines frozen so. thatll be..fun to skin. I dont even know how, but im going to use the help of a friend since she knows. shes my savior in all of this.

This bird shines black, green and purple. its wonderful. <3

Cant wait to mount it!

They are pretty cool we mounted one in Taxidermy School. if i did birds i would mount one but i dont so i dont even attepmt to get a crow.

Did you? Im stuck on this bird, im not really 100% sure on how to mount one but im getting a bit of help. Kind of confusing if you ask me. XD Im hoping I dont mess up, its rare ill get another crow.
Lucky you, I wish I could go to taxidermy school. =/
